Nathan Waddell Associate Pastor
Nate is originally from Minnesota where he lived for the first 21 years of his life. After becoming a Christian in college, he moved to China in 2011 to be a missionary and lived there until 2016. After China, Nate went to seminary and got his Masters of Divinity from Covenant Seminary in St. Louis. During seminary Nate met his wife Gracie, and they had their first son Liam. In 2020, Nate accepted a call to plant a campus ministry with RUF in Texas. There he and Gracie had their second son Benjamin and third son Gabriel. Nate has a lot of hobbies and interests including sports, anything outdoors, gardening, movies, reading, and cooking. When he can do any of those things with his friends or family, all the better.
Karen Butterfield Office Manager
Born and raised in Carshalton, England, Karen has spent most of her adult life in the U.S., living and working in various cities before she met and married her husband, Mike. They have three beautiful daughters, four grandchildren, and have lived on Kent Island since 2002.
Karen's journey with God led her to Safe Harbor, where she's been employed since 2005. She has really enjoyed working at the church, which has strengthened her walk with Jesus in so many ways. She enjoys singing with the Praise Worship Team and also working with the children's choir, VBS, the shelter and playing her ukulele.
Elaine Harrison Bookkeeper
Greg Pascuzzi Pianist
Greg was born in Pittsburgh and is our church pianist. He was Chief Composer/Arranger with the Army Field Band and Adjunct Professor at AACC. He has been married to Lumi, who is Romanian, for over 4 years and has attended Safe Harbor since 2004.
Yvonne McBee Nursery Coordinator
Yvonne was born in Maryland, but grew up in Escondido, CA, returning to the Kent Island area in 2003. She met her husband Hal McBee, Jr. the same year, and they were married in 2007. Their son was born in 2010, which is the same year they joined Safe Harbor. Royan is in the third grade at Lighthouse Christian Academy.
Yvonne has been working as the Nursery Coordinator since February of 2018, and absolutely loves her job. She is a graduate of California State University, Sacramento, where she earned a teaching degree in Social Sciences, and subsequently attended Lincoln Law School. Her favorite place to be in the church is back in the nursery creating fun things with the smallest members of the congregation. She also substitute teaches at Lighthouse Christian Academy when she isn’t in the nursery.
